Beyond the breach

One castle.
A thousand reasons to return.

Bring your friends into a changing fortress of dangerous encounters and hard-earned rewards. The route may look familiar. The next fight never quite is.

I

Read the fight. Change the plan.

Randomized enemies, elite traits, and boss abilities keep you on your toes. Choose Easy, Normal, or Hard and meet the castle on your terms.

II

Take the path less traveled.

Detour for spire weapon caches. Search the courtyard. Rally at the keep. There is more to the raid than the shortest route to the top.

III

Earn a story worth wearing.

Conquer the castle to make its rewards yours. Keep the exact gear you discovered, grow your character, and bring your new build into the next raid.

Know the battleground

Four faces of the fortress.

Different stone. Different routes.
The same tempting treasure at the top.

I · Stone & moss

Stone Citadel

Weathered stone. A moss-covered courtyard. Four watchful spires. The classic fortress, with a straight approach that can turn into anything but a simple fight.

The thrill of the find

One drop.
A whole new build.

A useful Magic item. A Rare with just the right bonuses. A Legendary that makes you rethink everything.

Discover gear with differently rolled bonuses, inspect your finds, and choose what works for your character. A great Rare can earn its place beside a Legendary.

Rarity design in development · Modifier counts are initial targets.

◆ Legendary

A signature worth building around.

Distinctive named gear designed around a signature effect, alongside a target of 3–4 ordinary modifiers. Its value depends on how that effect fits your build.

Every slot has a purpose

Build from the equipment up.

Balance your reach, protection, and supplies.
A loadout is more than its strongest weapon.

01 · Melee & ranged

Weapons

Swords and axes for close encounters. Bows and crossbows for distance. Compare the base weapon, its bonuses, and how you want to approach a fight.

Look for: spire weapon caches

02 · Head to toe

Armor

Head, chest, legs, and feet each have their own equipment slot. Compare pieces for the same slot and balance protection with the rest of your loadout.

Four slots to build around

03 · Another line of defense

Offhand gear

A shield gives you another way to face the breach. Consider your offhand alongside your weapon and armor when preparing for the next encounter.

04 · Ready for the climb

Supplies & utility

Food, arrows, and torches help sustain the run. Search supply chests, leave room on your hotbar, and prepare for the route as well as the fight.

Same item. Different find.

Understand the roll.

Item variance is the difference between possible finds: which bonus modifiers appear, which tiers they belong to, and the values they roll within those tiers.

Rarity
The kind of item: Common, Magic, Rare, or Legendary.
Item level & modifier tier
The item's level helps determine which modifier tiers are eligible. Each tier has its own possible values.
Roll quality
How favorable a value is within its allowed range. A high roll on a weaker tier can still be less useful than a stronger item.

The inspection design shows actual values, their possible ranges, and their expected averages. Fixed values are labeled fixed and do not receive a roll-quality score.

A character worth coming back to

Every victory.
Another step forward.

Character experience and equipment growth
give each successful raid lasting value.

  1. 01

    Earn experience

Successful raids award character XP. Persistent leveling is built around those victories, carrying your progress forward between runs.

  2. 02

    Keep the exact find

Complete the raid to make its new rewards permanent. The item's identity, modifiers, and rolled values stay with it when you bring it home.

  3. 03

    Refine your loadout

Compare new equipment with what you own. Chase a better roll, fill a weak slot, or build around a signature effect before returning to the castle.

Character growth and item quality tell different stories. Character XP records your progress. Item level describes a piece of gear; rarity and roll quality describe different aspects of that item. Leveling is in development, with XP thresholds and the level cap still to be confirmed.

The rewards have to be earned

Conquer the castle.
Bring the story home.

New raid loot becomes permanently yours after a successful run, with the exact bonuses you found. A failed or abandoned raid grants no new permanent loot or progression. The equipment you already own stays yours.

Victory makes
it yours.

The gate is only the beginning

There's always
one more raid.

Find a better roll. Refine your loadout.
Give your next great drop a place in your build.

Before the breach

A few things to know.

What do I need to play?+

Castle Raid is made for Minecraft Bedrock Edition, with a party of two or more players. A compatible Bedrock client and Microsoft account are required. RTX and the optional visuals pack are not required. Public play and the player portal are still in development; this site is the game overview.

Does every raid have the same castle?+

Themes, routes, enemies, and loot can change between raids. Stone, Desert, Deepslate, and Blackstone themes combine with South Gate, East Breach, West Breach, and Courtyard Maze routes. Elite and boss traits add another layer to the encounters.

What happens if a raid fails?+

A failed or abandoned raid grants no new permanent loot or progression. Gear you already owned stays yours. Successfully complete a raid to keep its rewards and their exact rolled bonuses.

Is a Legendary always the best choice?+

Rarity, item level, modifier tier, and roll quality describe different things. A Rare with useful bonuses can fit your loadout better than a Legendary. Compare the actual stats and signature effect with the equipment you already use.

How does leveling work?+

The progression design awards character XP through successful raids and carries that progress between runs. New gear becomes permanent on victory. A failed or abandoned raid grants no new permanent loot or progression. Exact XP thresholds and the level cap are still being developed.

How do I turn the animations on?+

Use Play motion on the hero or castle preview. The site starts with your device’s reduced-motion preference unless you have saved a choice here. You can choose Play or Pause at any time; the controls apply to all animated artwork.

Are these in-game screenshots?+

The cinematic scenes are original concept and gameplay illustrations. The animated architectural views use the game layouts with original decorative roofs, battlements, windows, and banners. Switch to Game cutaway to see the source floors, stairs, spire climbs, and caches. These are illustrations and geometry renders, rather than captured Minecraft gameplay.
